My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is about sharing my clients' burdens so that they feel like they are not in it alone. Nobody should feel alone when they are in turmoil. For this reason, I subscribe to a collaborative, team approach where my clients and I are working in tandem to identify the obstacles getting in the way of them experiencing life more fully. I like to spend the necessary time to nurture a close therapeutic bond that will allow my clients to feel safe and comfortable enough to open up about their challenges and also their dreams. In getting to know my clients, I can then choose treatment interventions that are in line with who they are personally and culturally. I integrate interventions from various modalities, based on my clients' needs, unique personality, and what research shows are the most effective. The treatment I provide often can incorporate a combination of cognitive behavioral exercises, psychodynamic work, as well as creative modalities, such as psychodrama and gestalt exercises.

My Practice & Services

My passion is helping my clients attain the most satisfaction out of their lives and be freed of the pains and stresses of various hurts. I generally see clients for 50-60 minute individual sessions once or twice a week. We can determine the frequency when we meet for the initial consultation. I do offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good match. My full session fee is $150 for 50-60 minutes, but I do offer lower fees when a client is truly in need. I accept insurance for Blue Shield, Magellan, and Aetna at this time.
